History of Thai Film Director Association
Thai Film Director Association was founded in 2002 with Nonsri Nimibuth as President. In 2004 that function was taken over by Prachya Prinkaew, who headed the association until 2007. Presently the association comprises 103 Thai directors as members with Yongyud Thongkongtun as President.
Agenda of Thai Film Director Association
1. To help unite professionals working in the Thai film industry.
2. To improve efficiency in Thai filmmaking.
3. To help facilitate the work flow between Thai Film Director Association and other film organizations (government and private) in Thailand, as well as internationally.
4. To preserve and cultivate Thai art and culture through the film medium. The association provides the general public with facts and figures about Thai film and Thai film industry and serves as an advisory body for filmmakers.
